Mawuena Adzo Trebah, the eldest sister of the late veteran journalist, Komla Dumor has passed away.
Details of what caused her death are yet to be made public, as her family has yet to issue a statement. But reports indicate that she died today, April 11 – a day before her 53rd birthday.
Before her passing, Mawuena made history as the first woman Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), from 2013 to 2017.
Prior to her GNPC appointment, she was the Founding Director and Chief Business Strategist of Inspire Africa Consult Limited, a business strategy-consulting firm.

She also worked with AngloGold Ashanti, Newmont Corporation & MTN Ghana in various communication roles.
In politics, she worked previously as the deputy spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign in 2020 and worked closely with his running mate Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang Jane.
She’s survived by her husband, Flt LT Divine Trebah, their daughter Katherine Joy, her father Prof Dumor, and her brother Dr Korshie Dumor.
