Ace Ghanaian footballer and West Ham United midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, was named Footballer of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards on June 29, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Kudus, who had previously won the award in 2023, beat competition from Inaki Williams, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Osman Bukari to win it for the second consecutive time. He follows in the footsteps of Thomas Partey, who also won the award in consecutive years (2018 and 2019).
During his award acceptance speech, Kudus invited his colleague and Leicester City player, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, on stage and showered him with praise and admiration for his talent and consistency, despite both being nominated in the Footballer of the Year category.
“I would like to thank Fatawu for coming here to support even though he is part of the nominees as well. As part of the new generation, one of my aim is to increase the love and unity between us,” he said.
