Lawyers of former Menzgold Chief Executive, Nana Appiah Mensah (infamously called NAM 1) have indicated that they would call a total of three or more witnesses from October 26 when the court resumes the hearing of his criminal trial.
“We are not sure the number of witnesses we will be calling now but at least more than three,” said, Audrey Twum, one of the lawyers on NAM 1’s legal team at a hearing on Tuesday.
Sitting judge, Justice Ernest Owusu-Dapaah has directed them to file Witness Statements by September 16.
NAM 1 is being prosecuted on 36 counts of selling gold without a license, operating a deposit-taking business, inducement to invest, defrauding by pretences, fraudulent breach of trust, and money laundering involving the sum of over GH₵340 million.
