The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended Kpeli Worlase, a member from the Afram Plains North Constituency in the Eastern Region over alleged anti-party activities including campaigning against the party’s Parliamentary candidate in the constituency.
Party General Secretary, Fiifi Kwetey wrote on Wednesday that Mr. Worlase will remain suspended while a Disciplinary Committee looks into the matter.
“The disciplinary committee will invite you for a hearing and intervene in your best interest to avail yourself for adjudication to enable the committee to submit a report with recommendations to FEC for further action,” the letter said.

The NDC has recently been rocked with some internal disputes among the party’s parliamentary candidates, even as a major election is close.
Last month, it suspended four executives at the Amenfi Central Constituency after disputes between those executives and Joana Cudjoe Gyan, the party’s parliamentary candidate in the area.
Weeks later, the Assin-Central parliamentary candidate was suspended for immoral acts and anti-conduct.
