Veteran Nollywood actor, Jerry Amilo, has offered an apology to fans who were disappointed by his recent post where he shared the corpse of his late colleague, Junior Pope.
He expressed his regret for any distress caused to Pope’s family and friends and stressed the importance of sensitivity and respect in dealing with such delicate matters.
The actor had posted a video on social media showing the lifeless body of the late Junior Pope lying in the hospital with wads of cotton wool covering his nose and ears. His action didn’t sit well with fans who bashed him for being insensitive.
Amilo added his name as a watermark to the deleted video on Facebook.

In his words: “MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE AMEN @jnrpope
Following all of the backlash, Amilo has now tendered an apology.
“It was never my intention to post the video for clout,” he explained.
Junior Pope died on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, alongside three others after their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a film location.
