Andre Onana is ‘considering’ his international future again due to barely playing for Cameroon at AFCON amid a feud with FA president Samuel Eto’o.
The goalkeeper played just once in his country’s four games in the Africa Cup of Nations as they fell to Nigeria in the last 16 of the competition on Saturday. Now, the Daily Mail claims the 27-year-old’s lack of game time and an ongoing rift with Cameroon FA president Samuel Eto’o may convince him to quit international football for the second time in just over 12 months.
Onana has had a tough time since completing a £47.2 million ($59.9m) move from Inter Milan to Manchester United last summer, with the stopper failing to impress on multiple occasions at the Premier League giants. And after a sub-optimal tournament with Cameroon, where Fabrice Ondoa was preferred by coach Rigobert Song, things don’t seem to be getting any better for the ex-Ajax star.
