One Person Arrested for Murder of Son of NPP Stalwart Professor Adu Boahen

The Ghana Police have arrested one person for his suspected involvement in the murder of Christopher Adu Boahen, the son of renowned scholar, historian, and New Patriotic Party stalwart, Professor Albert Kwadwo Adu Boahen.

“On 17th March 2024, the police received a complaint from some relations of the deceased that he had been found dead in his room under suspicious circumstances. A team of Police investigators immediately visited the scene and commenced investigations leading to the arrest of the suspect,” a police statement said on Tuesday.

According to a report by Asaase Radio, Christopher lost his life after armed robbers attacked him at his East Legon home on Sunday night.

“The armed robbers are said to have broken into his house, ransacked his home and killed him in the process. The late Christopher Adu Boahen was a physically challenged person,” the report said.

Christopher Adu Boahen (45) was one of four sons of Prof Adu Boahen, (an international historian and one-time NPP presidential aspirant in 1992), and also a sibling to Charles Adu Boahen, a former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry who was cleared in October by the OSP over his involvement in a bribery scandal.
