An April 8, 2024 letter signed by Nana Bediatuo, the Executive Secretary to the President announced the termination of Dr. Tenkorang’s appointment, giving no reason.
“In accordance with paragraph 8 of the said appointment letter, I regret to inform you that the President has terminated your appointment effective 15th April, 2024 with three (3) months’ salary in lieu of notice,” the letter said.

But his appointment has raised questions, as it has been viewed by some as an act of nepotism by the president. Governance expert Professor Enoch Antwi, speaking on TV3’s Ghana Tonight on Tuesday said the ought to be transparency in these appointments.
“It raises a lot of eyebrows because there are many people who qualify to be the DG of SSNIT, why the son of the senior minister Honorable Osafo-Marfo? What has he done to merit to be the interim D-G, we should know,” he said on the programme.
