President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday launched the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) and commissioned other essential road equipment at the Black Star Square in Accra.
“This initiative is a testament to the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia Government’s commitment to decentralizing development and ensuring that every corner of Ghana benefits from progress and prosperity,” Nana Addo said.
As part of the initiative, a fleet of 2,240 pieces of equipment, including motor graders, backhoes, rollers, wheel loaders, bulldozers, tipper trucks, concrete mixers, water tankers, and low beds, was commissioned. These machines were procured with help from JA Plant Pool Gh, a company owned by the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Joseph Siaw Agyapong.
“This ambitious programme will not only improve our road infrastructure but also create employment opportunities for 10,000 Ghanaians, including mechanics, engineers, and artisans,” he said.
