President Akufo-Addo Orders Public Sector Enrolment on HRMIS

Akufo-Addo has urged the Public Service Commission to develop strategies and adopt digitalization to enhance productivity within the public service sector to enhance productivity.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has assigned the Ministry of Finance, the Public Services Commission and the Controller and Accountant General Department to ensure that all personnel of public organizations are enrolled on the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) for efficient management of the payroll.

During his address at the annual conference of public service directors in Kwahu Nkwatia, Eastern Region on Wednesday, May 22, he emphasized that implementing pay-for-productivity would be crucial for effective salary administration.

The conference aimed to evaluate progress from the past year and devise plans for improvement.

“In this regard, I task the Ministry of Finance, the Public Services Commission and the controller and accountants General department to make setting the personnel of all public organisations enrolled onto the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) for the efficient management of our nation’s payroll,” he said.

The HRMIS integrates various human resource (HR) functions like recruitment, employee onboarding, performance management, training and development, payroll management, and employee records into a single platform.

HR professionals use HRMIS to collect, store, manage and analyze data related to employees throughout their lifecycle in the organization.
