President Akufo-Addo Sworn in for a Second Term

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been sworn in today for a second term as Ghana’s president, few hours after members of parliament were able to settle on a speaker for the country’s parliament.

President Akufo-Addo was re-elected in tightly-contested December 7 Elections in Ghana. His main opponent, the leader of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, has still not come to terms with the election results as he seeks explanation in court.

Nana Akufo-Addo currently has to deal with coronavirus and the country’s economy.
