The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has retained Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as its running mate to partner with the party’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama for the 2024 general elections.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has retained Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as its running mate to partner with the party’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama for the 2024 general elections.

This makes it the second consecutive time the former Minister of Education would partner with John Mahama for the presidential election after their unsuccessful attempt in the 2020 elections.

Though some party supporters have opposed the selection of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the party officially announced her vice-president candidate status after a closed-door meeting at its headquarters in Accra on March 7.

At the end of the conversation, the flagbearer’s choice was made known to the national executives of the party. He communicated to us that he was very much satisfied with the running mate that he went to battle with in the year 2020. The name of the running mate as you know already, is Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. She will be running for the NDC come December 7, 2024 elections,” the General Secretary, Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey said.
