The much-awaited mixtape by Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, dubbed “The Championship Mixtape,” has finally been released.
The “Championship” mixtape, which is now available on all streaming platforms, was released Friday morning, May 24, 2024. The mixtape is a strict rap collection curated by the BET award-winning rapper.
Before the project’s release, Sarkodie revealed that the mixtape would cater specifically to his devoted fan base, who craved his braggadocious and hardcore style of rapping.
The six-track mixtape delves into themes of trauma, survival, success, loyalty and longevity, with features from longtime collaborator Joey B, as well as new talents, Xlimkid and Beeztrap KOTM.

Sarkodie raps over electrifying beats in his native tongue, Twi, asserting his dominance and influence over the Ghanaian music industry. Beat producers Fortune Dane, Altra Nova, and M.O.G Beatz handled productions on the mixtape.
The tema-born rapper also reflects on personal matters, and his legacy in the music industry and slightly addresses controversies about his attitude and character, that have surfaced over the years. Sarkodie delivers a powerful performance laced with boastful and unapologetic rhymes as he effortlessly rides the beats with his catchy twi lyrics.
There were no responses whatsoever to the Nigerian rappers who released songs aimed at the Ghanaian rapper, following the release of the mixtape’s lead single, “Brag.”
Fans will be able to acquire shares directly while streaming the mixtape thanks to Sarkodie’s announcement of his collaboration with Opulous, a music and blockchain platform, during the listening session for “The Championship” in London, UK.
The Championship” mixtape follows the Jamz album, which was released in 2022. The “Angels and Demons” rapper also released a six-track hip-hop EP, titled “Alpha” in 2019. Sarkodie currently has six studio albums to his credit.
