Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, who was scheduled to perform at the African Fan Zone event in Paris on Aug 9, 2024, has pulled out of the concert.
According to a press statement issued by Eagle Plug, the marketing company representing Sarkodie, the rapper’s inability to perform at the concert was due to the event organizers’ failure to meet contractual obligations.
“Eagle Plug regrets to announce the cancellation of Sarkodie’s scheduled performance at the Station Africa(African Fan Zone) event in Paris today, August 9, 2024. Although our best efforts were made to honour the commitment, the agency responsible for the event has failed to fulfill it obligations,” the statement read.
The statement signed by Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Quarmyne, explained how Sarkodie and his entourage flew to Paris, despite the event organisers failure to honour the terms of the signed agreement.

“The contract was signed two months ago but the agency has failed to fulfill the conditions precedent to enable Sarkodie to perform. Despite the failure of the agency to respect the terms of the contract, Eagle Plug did all within its power to get our artiste and his team to come to paris in anticipation of the agency keeping it bargain.”
“Throughout this period, we have exercised patience and understanding, fully aware of the complexities involved in organising an event of this scale. However, even after the agency’s repeated assurances that all issues would be resolved upon on our arrival in Paris, nothing changed,” excerpts of the statement read.
The latter part of the statement mentioned that even though Sarkodie was eager to treat the fans to a thrilling performance, however he had no option than to cancel his performance.
