You know, in the days of yore in this Republic of our death, the commercial vehicles were mummy trucks (made by Bedford) aka bone shaker, the Datsun/Nissan pickups converted to face-to-face and complemented by State ones like OSA, City Express and Green Lines.
Interestingly, they had some words of wisdom emblazoned on the vehicles; adages and wise sayings like ‘All days are not equal’, Gye Nyame, If you do good, you do for yourself and many more.
And it usually served as constant reminders of our values whenever we saw these vehicles pass by.
But today, they are not as common as they used to be. There was this accident years ago, and people rushed to the scene to help with the rescue efforts. What caught Rasta’s eye was the inscription on the face-to-face trosky: “Obronsam ahwe ase”. To wit the devil has fallen.

Could it mean that the vehicle was the devil? Anyway, we miss those inscriptions that remind us of what to do and what not to do. This has nothing to do with arrogance or confidence. Just an observation.
For the past few days, the most used English words in the Republic are ‘confidence’ and ‘arrogance’. All because of the gallant and towering Napoleon from Manhyia as the chosen mate who will be running after the vehicle with the ‘driver hopeful’ in the driving seat, calling for passengers.
Some citizens began making comments about how he was an arrogant person and was just going to cause a lot of harm to Walewale Adam Smith’s bid to be given the steering wheel.
This, as usual, didn’t go down well with some citizens who said that the man was a confident man and people were just mistaking his confidence as arrogance. Granted.

Now, let’s just do a few exercises. You answer and mark yourself. Just tick your answer, please.
1. This Honable of the Republic’s People’s House threatened to stage a demonstration if My President’s cousin who is always in white apparel and quoting scriptures makes budgetary allocations for the citizens of Keta who needed help. Is this arrogance or confidence? Tick your answer.
2. This same Honable said Teachers with Diploma certificates were failures. Confidence or Arrogance?
3. Last one, please, when citizens were in dumsor and this man was asked as minister to provide a timetable for us to prepare for the next bout of dumsor, he told the Journalists there was no dumsor and added that citizens should draw up their own timetable.
Confidence or Arrogance?
Please do your own assessment.

On his grand day of unveiling as the potential driver’s mate, he had the confidence or arrogance to disrespect the founder of the Republic, Osagyefo, in favour My President.
Let’s ask ooo…..is My President competing in the thumb printing exercise to be held in December with Osagyefo?
If anything at all, in his inaugural address as we can put it, he should have been talking about what he’s bringing on board to help Walewale Adam Smith and the Triumphant Patriotic Elephants win the upcoming thumb printing exercise. But…..
Anyway, after the thumb printing exercise, we’ll see the number of pro-confident citizens and the same for the pro-arrogance citizens in this Republic of our death.
Rasta is still scratching his head as to why the Board or Council of Kwame Nkrumah University is still quiet over this matter. This man attended this prestigious university built by Osagyefo.
My President with almost eight years in office hasn’t even built a kindergarten. Please if you know of one let us know.
In fact, Osagyefo built more educational institutions in five years than even the colonial British government of a hundred and thirteen years! And My President, who hasn’t built one kindergarten is better than Osagyefo?
A man whose birthday is celebrated by the AU. A man who is the African of the past millennium. A hero of the Pan-African establishment. The ‘show boy’ of the young Republic then.

So, after the political actors of the Republic have succeeded in taxing citizens and spending it confidently or arrogantly, we won’t be spared by the very establishment that is supposed to console us and give us hope?
After all the different types of collections; Sunday church collections, day born collections, silver collections, church building collections, maintenance of pastor and family collections, harvests and tithes, now we are being told to will our properties to the church as well.
So, citizens of this Republic of our death can’t enjoy the fruits of their labour and their families and loved ones too should be deprived of the small inheritance they get?
Eiish!
The state is capturing our bodies and pockets and churches are also following suit to capture our legacies after capturing our souls and spirit. That pastor who made that call should have pity on us. We beg.

At long last, the green light has been given. The hotels have arrived under the auctioneer’s hammer or is it gavel? These people paaa…..
When it’s said that citizens are losing trust in state institutions, we think it’s a perception. My sister, my brother, it’s real. All Rasta can say to the National Pensions Regulatory Authority and SSNIT is ayekoo! Let’s meet at the pension side of life.
Ibi Ghana we dey!!!
Let’s be honest on this matter. The reason being given by the Chief of the Republic’s Wiggy Red-Robbed Supremos doesn’t hold water. Not even a tiny little bit of it. They can have a hundred Wiggy Red Robbed Supremos at the bench and there will still be a backlog of cases. What happened to the shift system she announced a few months ago?
Ibi Ghana we dey!!!
Koo Dame again? What did the Republic win at the arbitration tribunal? Don’t come and confuse us. We all saw the judgment or ruling or whatever it’s called. We didn’t win a pesewa. Rather, we lost money in paying the lawyers who represented the Republic. Case closed.
Ibi Ghana we dey!!!
Last week a 14,000-seater church building was inaugurated. And this was built by one man and his congregation.
And we as a Republic are struggling to build a 5,000 seater cathedral. All we have is a big dugout.
Ibi Ghana we dey!!!
Have a wonderful hangover morning and a confident or arrogant weekend.
