Saturday Morning Hangover Blues: For God and Family

Truth is, citizens are sometimes baffled by what some of these people say. And sometimes the logic they draw upon is so hollow and they expect that by some miracle, we'll be able to decipher whatever they say.

So, the Republic’s glorious and melodious national anthem begins with God. And the national pledge ends with God. But the wickedness and suffering in the Republic don’t suggest that we serve God or that God has any interest in this Republic of our death.

Where is he at all? People have plundered and cheated the citizens and he’s only watching on?

Honable Presby Nyame rode on the ticket of God to get Joseph’s job in this Republic. And unknown to citizens, he was secretly negotiating to buy our hotels.

My President’s cousin who is always in white apparel was always quoting scriptures while he was put in charge of the Republic’s kitty. He squeezed the breath out of citizens and collected loans upon loans.

Today we have a huge cloud of debt hanging over us. We heard that his private company was in fact the official firm that these loans went through and benefitted from all loans he collected. Upon all the scriptural quotations.

We beg, My President! We all know that it’s an indisputable historical fact that Osagyefo Nzema Showboy is the founder of this Republic that we find ourselves in. From all angles, he’s the man. You came and chose August 4 as a holiday in the Republic. Just few complained.
Now you’ve just rubbed salt into injury. August 4 is the date for the founding of your parents’ party, the UGCC.
1. Does it make it a national holiday?
2. What about the nationalist movements that existed before the formation of the UGCC?
3. Should the date on which a party was formed qualify to be a national holiday?
4. Was it not this same UGCC that said we were not ready for independence?
5. Who consolidated all the ethnic groups to be the present day Republic that you preside over? UGCC?
6. Which political party were in cahoots with the coup plotters that overthrew Osagyefo?

Honest answers to the above should settle the matter. You have given your personal views on the issue. So be it. And it’s highly respected. Citizens of the Republic also have our views.

But, let’s ask ooo… if any of the national football teams wins a tournament, who is the trophy given to first? The coach or the captain? Oyiwa!
Massa, whether we like it or not, Osagyefo the Nzema Showboy is the founder of this Republic of our death. Case close!

Ibi Ghana we dey!!!

These days, one hardly finds news items every day and not find some persons who are able to talk some small English parading themselves as communicators for one presidential candidate or the other and messing up issues here and there. Please, we’re still begging you. Let the candidates speak and explain the issues they have raised. Do you even know who a communicator is?

Truth is, citizens are sometimes baffled by what some of these people say. And sometimes the logic they draw upon is so hollow and they expect that by some miracle, we’ll be able to decipher whatever they say. Hmmm….

Ibi Ghana we dey!!!

The airbus has finally landed. And so now it’s a landbus. It landed with a smooth screech and taxied to the hanger. Lucky for Little Dramani and his brother, they’ve been cleared and can walk about freely. But Rasta has a feeling in the bones that there’s going to be some retribution against those who made the case against them. In one form or the other. Yours Truly can smell it coming. Let’s wait and see!

Ibi Ghana we dey!!!

Our market women too, na waa for them ooo.. You go buy some spices which they’ve tied in rubber and Massa, you bring it home and when you want to untie it to use, it’s like untying the Gordian knot. Aba! Anyway we say ayekoo to them for helping brothers out in these tight times.

Have a great hangover morning and a thoughtful weekend of whether to accept the apologies rendered by the new kid on the block.

Kwame Rasta
