Residents of Bole on Saturday staged demonstrations demanding action over recent mysterious murders in the area.
The protest was a reaction to the recent unexplained killing of three people in the town within a space of one month, Yagbon Radio, a community radio station based in Bole reported.
“The peaceful protest, championed by the concerned citizens of Bole began at Agabuto to Junction to the Police Headquarters Area to Jakala Mango Lane) to Bole Station and back to Agabuto.”
Demonstrators are also said to have petitioned the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, as they fear for their lives.

“The Residents of Bole are now living in a sketchy environment contemplating who will be the next victim. We are no longer safe in our community and cannot go about our normal routines without fear of consequences,” they wrote in the petition.
A day before the protest, the Ghana Police Service deployed more of its men to the area including a team of forensic experts, and crime investigators to probe the matter.

According to residents, since 2021, about 20 people have been murdered in mysterious ways, but no arrests have been made yet.
