Sean Combs Files Motion to Dismiss Certain Claims in Sexual Assault Lawsuit

The motion which was submitted to a New York court on Friday, argues that Combs cannot be sued since certain laws were not in place at the time the accusations were made against Combs.

Attorneys for American rapper, Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, have retaliated against another lawsuit accusing the music mogul of sexual assault and revenge porn.

The motion which was submitted to a New York court on Friday, argues that Combs cannot be sued since certain laws were not in place at the time the accusations were made against Combs.

The lawsuit was filed last year by Joi Dickerson-Neal, who claimed she was intentionally drugged by Combs and sexually assaulted while a college student in 1991. According to the lawsuit, she appeared in a music video with Combs around that time. The lawsuit states that Combs additionally recorded the assault and showed it to friends in the music business.

Following the lawsuit, Combs’ attorneys have come out to deny the charges, labelling Dickerson-Neal’s accusations as false, offensive, and salacious. They also requested that parts of the suit be dismissed, arguing that some of the accusations against Combs were brought under statutes that did not exist at the time of the alleged incident.

In response to the lawsuit, Combs’ attorneys said, Dickerson-Neal’s allegation was made almost thirty years after his alleged misbehaviour, and the New York State Revenge Porn Law was not codified until 2019.

Since November, Combs has faced six separate civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and other allegations, with one settled. Combs and his attorneys have denied all of the allegations in the lawsuits.
