The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has announced that it’s filed fresh charges against the former Chief Executive of the Public Procurement Authority(PPA) Agyenim Boateng Adjei.
The charges were filed on Wednesday, April 17, the OSP said in an update on X.
“He faces eight (8)charges related to the misuse of public office for personal gain and manipulation of the procurement process to gain an unfair advantage in securing procurement contracts,” the statement said.
However, one charge of misusing public office for personal profit against his brother-in-law and co-accused, Francis Kwaku Arhin, has been dropped.

It’s not yet clear if the new charges will replace previous charges since the OSP started prosecuting Mr. Agyenim Boateng in 2022.
Agyenim Boateng Adjei was sacked from office in 2019 after an investigative documentary titled ‘Contracts for Sale’ by journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, revealed he had engaged in conflict of interest in the award of government contracts.
The investigation found that Mr. Adjei awarded a number of government contracts under restrictive tendering to Talent Discovery Limited (TDL), a company he co-founded with his brother-in-law.
“Talent Discovery Limited, the investigations found, did not have the capacity to execute the contracts. It then sold the contracts to individuals and companies without the knowledge or approval of the awarding entities,” said Manasseh Azure.
In 2020, CHARJ banned Agyenim Adjei for five years from holding any public office after it investigated him on allegations of conflict of interest.
