The singer entered the Forbes World's Billionaires List for the first time with $1.1bn along with Sam Altman, creator of the AI chatbot ChatGPT.

American pop star Taylor Swift has been named among the world’s richest people in 2024 by Forbes magazine.

The singer entered the Forbes World’s Billionaires List for the first time with $1.1bn along with Sam Altman, creator of the AI chatbot ChatGPT.

LVMH French luxury goods titan, Bernard Arnault and his family topped the chart with an estimated $233bn.

After Frenchman Mr Arnault and his family, Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and X, formerly Twitter, is listed second, with an estimated net worth of $195bn. He is followed in the third place by Amazon owner Jeff Bezos.

Forbes said the list was compiled using stock prices and exchange rates as of March 8, 2024.

Taylor Swift garnered her  $1.1 billion fortune based on earnings from her blockbuster Eras Tour, which spanned five continents and included more than 150 shows. The publication estimated that Swift has more than $500 million in wealth from royalties and touring, a music catalogue worth another $500 million and $125 million in real estate.

According to Forbes, Swift is the first musician to hit ten-figure status solely based on her songs and performances.

Taylor Swift is the first performer to win a Grammy for album of the year four times, She is also one of the world’s best-selling digital artists, with 200 million records sold.
