Tertiary Education Commission Ask Controller to Withhold Salaries of Striking CETAG Members

CETAG members have been protesting for better working conditions and remuneration packages. But that action has been described as "illegal" by GTEC

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has instructed the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to halt the payment of July 2024 salaries for all teaching staff at the Colleges of Education, with the exception of college principals.

This directive is a reaction to the ongoing strike by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), which commenced last month. CETAG members have been protesting for better working conditions and remuneration packages.
