Third Suspect Arrested in Connection with Ablekuma Fan Milk Bullion Van Robbery

ACCRA, GHANA – The Aflao District Police Command has successfully apprehended Blessing Njoma, a key suspect involved in the notorious Ablekuma Fun Milk bullion van robbery, which tragically resulted in the death of a police escort.

In a joint operation, the Ghana Police Service and Togo Interpol collaborated to arrest the suspect, a Nigerian, at the Asigame market in Lome, the capital city of Togo.

This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the investigation, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to three, as they face grave charges related to the heinous crime.

The Ablekuma Fun Milk bullion van robbery occurred on June 14, 2023, during which Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah valiantly lost his life while escorting the vehicle. The audacious robbers attempted to flee with the van’s valuable contents, but swift action by the police thwarted their plans, resulting in the apprehension of the initial suspects.

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, a solemn ceremony was held to bid farewell to the brave Lance Corporal Amoah, whose sacrifice in the line of duty will be forever remembered.

Newsalertgh.com reports that the two other suspects, Benjamin Ojogbe and Rashid Abdul, have been remanded into police custody by the Kaneshie District Court. Both face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and the murder of Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah.
