Tidal Rave Festival: A New Resounding Experience

But the excitement didn't stop there. In a bold move, the festival traded the seclusion of Kokrobite beach sites for the allure of the easily accessible La Palm Royal Beach resort. This strategic relocation was akin to unlocking the doors to a world of convenience and indulgence, where attendees could effortlessly navigate the event grounds and bask in the opulence of the resort's amenities.

On Saturday, November 4th, 2023, more than 20,000 music lovers gathered at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, to experience the 10th edition of the Tidal Rave Festival. This festival, which celebrates creativity, arts and music, is the largest beach festival in West Africa.

The festival, themed “The New Rave”, offered a diverse and exciting range of experiences for the attendees, who were dubbed “Ravers”. From live performances by some of Ghana’s finest artists to interactive workshops on dance, fashion, art, e-gaming and entrepreneurship.

The musical lineup of the festival was impressive. It featured some of the most popular and influential artists in the Ghanaian music scene, such as Samini, Sarkodie, La Meme, Stonebwoy, Efya, King Promise, KiDi, and many more.

The artists gave electrifying performances that kept the audience entertained and energized throughout the show. Sarkodie, the rap legend, took the crowd on a musical journey by performing a mix of his classic hits and new releases. Stonebwoy, the dancehall king, rocked the stage with his catchy tunes and powerful vocals. Samini, the reggae icon, had the audience singing along to his timeless songs for almost an hour.

The festival also showcased some of the emerging talents in the industry, such as Lali x Lola, The Office Boys, Crispen, Tripsy, Aba Sauce, Tsaqa, Maya Blu, and a collective of young and talented artists who brought a fresh and unique vibe to the festival.

The festival was not only about music but also about creating a holistic and immersive experience for the Ravers. The festival had different zones that catered to the different interests and passions of the attendees.

The Surfside Stage was the place to enjoy non-stop music from some of the best DJs in the country. The Surf and Surf Dance Studio was the place to learn and practice some of the latest and hottest dance moves, with the help of professional dancers and instructors.

The Shoreline Arcade and E-Bubble experience immersed participants in an exhilarating world of popular e-games set against the picturesque backdrop of the beach and the festival ambiance.

The festival organizers, sparing no expense in their quest for top-notch security, enlisted the expertise of both seasoned police officers and the highly acclaimed Eye360, an award-winning private security company in Ghana. Their combined efforts were the ultimate guarantee of a secure haven for the Ravers.

This strategic relocation was akin to unlocking the doors to a world of convenience and indulgence, where attendees could effortlessly navigate the event grounds and bask in the opulence of the resort’s amenities.

To further enhance the overall experience, a meticulously crafted parking and ticketing system was put into play. Attendees were directed to park their vehicles at the Trade Fair complex, where their tickets underwent a meticulous scan. From there, they embarked on a seamless shuttle ride to the resort, alleviating the age-old burdens of traffic congestion and the vexing search for a precious parking spot on the beach.

As if that wasn’t enough, the festival showcased a breathtaking stage, mesmerizing lights, and a jaw-dropping setup that conjured an enchanting atmosphere, setting the stage for unforgettable performances.

While attendees mostly enjoyed the event, there were timing issues with some artist performances. However, there was praise for the overall improvement in security and venue access. The experience has left attendees eager for the next edition.
