The National Theatre in Accra was built in around 1990. This theatre has been funded by the Chinese Government. There are three companies residing in it including The National Dance Company, The National Symphony Orchestra, and The National Theatre Players.

Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Memorial Park

This is the museum which has all the remains of Dr Kwane Nkrumah. He was the first president of Ghana. The main reason for building this mausoleum was to pay tribute to the first president of Ghana. He played a major role in the independence of Ghana.

Jamestown

Jamestown is one of the oldest places in Africa. It had been established back in the 17th century. It is the oldest part of the Accra city. Despite of its historic nature, Jamestown is still used as a fishing harbor. Tourists interested in exploring the colonial history of Accra can find it all in Jamestown. Jamestown was once scarcely populated but due to the commercial activity on the rise, it has become a densely populated area in the city.

Makola Market

This is one of the most happening places in Accra. Tourists coming to the city can find a lot of shopping places in Makola Market. They can easily find a lot of discounted items in the market as well. One notable aspect of the market is that all the shopkeepers are women. The main items that are sold in the market include shoes, medicines, pots, and fresh food items.

Labadi Beach

There are several beaches in Accra. However, the most famous of all is Labadi Beach. People who love to go to beaches will find it a heaven for unwinding themselves. There is an entrance fee charged to the tourists entering the beach. However, if you are residing in one of the hotels within the beach, you can go to the beach without paying any entrance fee.
