Ukraine has strengthened its relations with Ghana by opening an embassy in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Ghana among others will perform the normal diplomatic mission functions like developing political contacts, strengthening economic and people-to-people ties, and providing consular services to Ukrainians and Ghanaians.
Speaking on the occasion on Friday, April 12, 2024, Special Envoy of Ukraine to the Middle East and Africa, Dr Maksym Subh, declared that the ceremony shows Ukraine’s preparedness to develop full bilateral relations with Ghana.
Dr Subh disclosed that Ghana was not only a traditional friend but also a country with which Ukraine had achieved extraordinary cooperation in the political and trade spheres as well as at international forums, and that the dynamics of the relations had grown exponentially, especially in the last two years.

Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, made it clear that Ghana would not shirk its responsibility of firmly supporting the right of Ukraine’s territorial boundaries, and UN General Assembly Resolutions condemning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
