In a bizarre turn of events, a final year student of University of Education,Winneba (UEW), met his demise following an unsuccessful backflip.
The victim, Abdul Majeed Sani, is a known athlete and gymnast who has represented the school many times in competitions.
Sources and eyewitnesses say the student was coming out of the examination amidst jubilation for finishing his final paper. Amid the jubilation, he decided to perform one of his gymnastic skills which he successfully does all the time to the admiration of his peers.
Sadly, one thing led to another causing him to land abruptly on his neck, injuring his spine in the process. This brought a complete halt to the celebrations as they rushed him to Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for treatment.
He was further referred to Accra for further treatment but gave up the ghost on Thursday.
