While many Ghanaian celebrities choose to keep their political affiliations a secret to avoid the likelihood of being marginalized in their respective industries, a few chose to attend an NDC event last night to make a strong political statement.
Several well-known entertainment figures who were visible at the unveiling, included Ayawaso West Parliamentary Candidate, actor John Dumelo, TV and radio presenter Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), actress Kafui Danku, gospel singer Nacee, and Ghanaian highlife legend Rex Omar.
John Dumelo and Kojo Jones are long-time NDC members who have taken an active role in the party’s activities. Dumelo is the current NDC candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon. Kojo Jones participated in the party’s Keta parliamentary primaries last year.
Nacee, who wrote campaign songs for the party and has been a steadfast supporter of the NDC, electrified the crowd with a performance.

There have been times when rapper, Kanye West, also faced backlash by the African American community in the U.S. after declaring his support for the administration of Donald Trump.
