“I mean he could choose to act however he wants to honestly, it is his own prerogative because I’m not a stranger to him…when someone wins, it doesn’t mean the world has come to an end,” King Promise said.

The “Terminator” hitmaker stated emphatically that everyone knows he was supposed to be crowned the artiste of the Year, however, he said “it is a competition, it could go your way, might go another way which is fine. At the end of the day in my heart, in my fans’ heart, everybody says it was supposed to be yours.”

King Promise, the winner of the Most Popular Song of the Year, said he and Stonebwoy have collaborated on songs in the past and had a good relationship before he gained fame.

“We’ve had conversations, we have had music together. I have done a song for his album, he’s done a song for my album, and he’s known me even before I blew up. I don’t think I did anything wrong by congratulating him, did I?” he added.

The alleged rift between King Promise and Stonebwoy began a few days before the 2024 TGMAs, when fans started comparing the two artists and debating who would win the Artiste of the Year award.

Stonebwoy ultimately won the award, beating King Promise. Despite this, King Promise congratulated Stonebwoy on X (formerly Twitter), only for Stonebwoy to ignore the message. This led to speculation among fans and social media commentators about a possible feud between the two Ghanaian artists.

However, in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM last week, he admitted that he saw the message but could not respond due to the influx of congratulatory messages from other well-wishers and fans alike. He stated that he has no issues with King Promise.
