New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has officially informed national officers of his party about his decision to have Energy Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running-mate for the elections in December.
In a post on Facebook, the National Organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana-B) confirmed the meeting, saying that it took place at the NPP’s headquarters in Asylum Down.
“The nomination however, awaits the decision of the National Council which is the final approving organ of the NPP.”

Last week, Dr. Bawumia presented Opoku Prempeh’s name to President Akufo-Addo and the majority caucus of Parliament, cementing long-held rumors that the Energy Minister had been selected for the role of running-mate.

The party is expected to make an official announcement later this week, many reports have said.
