“Today I am here to thank all but not to campaign. The real work follows later”, Dr Opoku Prempeh said.

Earlier the NPP was at the Manhyia Palace to introduce the Party’s Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his Running Mate, Dr Opoku Prempeh, to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

During the introduction, President Nana Akufo-Addo praised his Vice President, Dr Bawumia, tagging him as the most reliable Vice President in Ghana’s history.

President Akufo-Addo expressed his gratitude for having a competent Vice President like Dr. Bawumia and expressed his belief that Dr Bawumia is the best person to succeed him as the next president of Ghana.

“The two are the best ticket to lead Ghana for the next four years due to their impressive track record of delivering on tasks assigned to them under his administration”, the President said.

On his part, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, advised Dr Opoku Prempeh to be loyal and obedient to Dr Bawumia and ensure that Dr Bawumia never regrets selecting him as his running mate for the 2024 general election.

He advised Dr Opoku Prempeh to serve his boss with honesty and urged the NPP to focus on telling Ghanaians what they intend to do for them and to conduct a clean campaign.

The Asantehene expressed surprise at the perception that Dr Opoku Prempeh was arrogant saying he (the Asantehene) has not observed such traits in Dr. Opoku Prempeh, whom he fondly referred to as his son.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu urged the NPP’s presidential candidate to train his running mate, calling on him to “Train Napo, and when he goes wrong, tell me, and I will advise him.”

President Nana Akufo-Addo, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, and Chairman Stephen Ayensu Ntim led the delegation to the Manhyia Palace.
