Ghana Immigration Intercepts Chinese Man and Accomplice with Arms at Paga Border

Officials of the Ghana Immigration Service have intercepted and arrested a Chinese man and his Ghanaian accomplice who tried to escape inspection at the Paga Border.

Zhou Quan and Awato Kwame, both riding a Burkina Faso-registered Toyota Rav4 had sped off, trying to evade immigration control, a statement said.

“Inspector Ebenezer Badu and AICO-1 Charles Taali, who were on duty, gave them a hot chase, which led to the interception and arrest of Mr. Zhou Quan, the Chinese, and Mr. Awato Kwame, his Ghanaian accomplice.”

Officials said they discovered two Chinese pump-action guns, 11 packs of body-armor bags, two jackknives, 15 electronic gold scales, three phones, suspected gold ore, and cash amounts.
