Sean “Diddy” Combs has apologised for his hostile behaviour following the release of the surveillance footage showing him attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
The rapper who had initially denied the allegations made by Ventura in a lawsuit, claimed full responsibility for his actions in the viral video, which surfaced earlier this week. The surveillance footage obtained by CNN, captured Mr Combs chasing after Ventura, he grabbed her by the neck and threw her on the ground. He goes on to aggressively kick and punch his ex-girlfriend in a hotel hallway.
Speaking in a new video posted on his Instagram page, Combs whose whereabouts is still unknown, said he takes full accountability for his actions in the video.
“I was f**ked up, I mean I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said.

Combs also stated that he was disgusted by his behaviour and intends to seek therapy. He then offered an apology for his hostile behaviour towards Ventura.
“I was disgusted when I did it. I’m disgusted now, I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry,” he added.
According to CNN, the incident happened at the now-closed Intercontinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, May 17, 2024, that the alleged assault captured on video may be too old to prosecute.
Ventura filed a lawsuit against him in Nov 2023, alleging physical assault and sexual abuse. She later dropped the case after agreeing to settle the matter out-of-court the next day. Since then, several other women have filed lawsuits accusing the rapper of sexual and physical abuse.
His homes in Los Angeles and Miami, Florida, were raided last month as part of a federal investigation into human trafficking.
