Ghana to Host Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in May

The Commonwealth Secretary-General, The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, will take part as a special guest and deliver welcoming remarks. The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo will open the week-long Conference.

Ghana from May 5 -12, 2024, would host heads of 21 anti-corruption agencies in Commonwealth Africa for its 14th annual conference, which is geared at sharing expertise, innovations, and lessons in combating corruption.

“With support from the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Republic of Ghana will be hosting the 14th Regional Conference of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Commonwealth Africa at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, under the theme “Strengthening Institutions and Promoting Transparency: A means of fighting Corruption in Commonwealth Africa,” the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has announced, as it’s one of the participating agencies from Ghana.

The one-week event would be the second time Ghana is hosting the conference after doing so a decade ago.

“The Anti-Corruption institutions in Ghana: Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) are leaving no stone unturned in hosting a successful and memorable Conference,” EOCO said further in its statement.
