The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has counselled Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to conduct himself in a manner that will leave Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with no cause for regret in choosing him as his running mate for the upcoming 2024 general election.
On Tuesday, July 9, during the presentation of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, admonished him to be attentive to the guidance of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
“Don’t let Dr Bawumia regret selecting you as his running mate. Don’t ever let him regret that. Be humble and submissive to him. Do only what he teaches you to do,” he advised.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, while showing support for his grandson, cautioned Dr. Opoku Prempeh against reinforcing the perception of arrogance.

He thanked the NPP for the honour bestowed upon his grandson, in choosing him as the running mate.
The revered chief entreated Dr. Bawumia to mentor Dr. Opoku Prempeh and to notify him (Otumfuo) if his grandson ever requires correction.
“Train him and when he goes wrong, tell me and I will advise him,” he added.
